Albaicín

The Albaicín is a neighborhood on a hill above Granada. The area closest to the center of town is full of teterías and muslim pastry shops. On some of the streets I walk down in this part of town I don't even hear spanish - only arabic is spoken here. Down both sides of the narrow pebbled streets are lined with shops that sell crystal tea sets, colorful rugs, lamps and hookahs three feet tall. Dissecting the upper parts of the hill, one finds hundreds of tiny, curvy streets and unexpected plazas and vistas. Once, when I was looking for a tetería (it advertised free wifi) I looked up one side of the street only to see it end in clouds - some of the streets simply point up to the sky.

The Alhambra at night

Hi everyone :) Sorry I haven't been posting here. I'll try to make it up in the next few days. The internet in my residence finally works.
